SUNSET AND REGATTA WATCHING (every thursday evening)
This is our main Event, a gathering every Thursday to go out to the middle of Long Island Sound at 5:30 PM and get up close to watch the “Can 1” regatta among sailboats based in the western LI Sound area. Start time at 7 pm, with usually about 15 sailboats all gathering around the Start Line jockeying for position as the Start Gun sounds. Very exciting movement to watch the congregation of sails. Leisurely return back to New Rochelle to watch the gorgeous skies at sunset.
FLAT FEE: $ 400 for the outing, with typically up to a group of 4 customers.
CASUAL OUTINGS, sUNSET CRUISE (2-3 HOURS)
A lovely outing on “As One Does” involves usually a group of two to four friends gathered together for a fun time out on the water. Two hours is usually the minimum length of time for being out for a sail. Sunsets occur later in the evening in July and August, allowing for a later start time for a Sunset Cruise (or a longer outing if we start earlier).
PREMIUM TOUR: $ 125 per hour, per person (minimum two passengers). You and your guests can sit back and just enjoy the sail, while the Captain will have hired Crew with him to look after the boat. The tour lasts usually for around two hours. Larger groups (up to 4 passengers) can receive a discount. Start time for the Sunset Cruise would be to meet at 5:00 PM at the New Rochelle Marina.
ASPIRING SAILOR DISCOUNT: $ 100 per hour, per person (minimum two passengers). This option means at least one in your party is comfortable to accept the role as “Crew” for the sailing (so that the Captain does not have to hire external Crew). Larger groups (up to 4 passengers) can receive a discount. Start time for the Sunset Cruise would be to meet at 5:00 PM at the New Rochelle Marina .
SPECIAL TOURS (LOWER MANHATTAN OR OTHER OUTINGS)
SPECIAL OFFER: SAIL DOWN THE EAST RIVER TO BATTERY PARK AND THE STATUE OF LIBERTY. It is a spectacular experience to take a sailboat down the East River, past the UN building and other skyscrapers in Manhattan, arriving down by Wall Street to see the open expanse of the Hudson River giving way to the Verrazano Bridge opening up to the Atlantic Ocean. Due to timing arrangements (and coordination with the significant tides around Manhattan), we will use a different Meeting Point instead of New Rochelle: it will be in New York City, in Queens, at the Worlds Fair Marina (near La Guardia Airport and Citi Field). At the end of the Tour, the Drop-Off Point will be on the Hudson River in lower Manhattan.
SAILING INSTRUCTION OFFERS. A special package can be arranged for a series of sailing outings leading the Aspiring Sailor to go even further in preparation for the final decision to buy a sailboat or not.
