Founder and Co-Owner (along with his wife Evelyne) of Fallows Sailing Inc. Tom drives the experience. He began as a sailor in the early 60s in Balboa Harbor at Newport Beach, California (pictured below!). Sailing at boy scout camp at Big Bear Lake. Sailing later on the Charles River in Boston. While living in Italy for 10 years, he sailed out of the coast on the Italian riviera (Liguria, Cinque Terre) and sailed windsurfs and small craft on a lake outside of Rome. Summer cruises in Greece, Turkey and Sicily. On vacation in Hawaii and Phuket, he’d rent a boat for an outing. Then in Hong Kong in the 2000s he took courses and enrolled in the local sailing club.
After being overseas for 30 years living in Moscow, Rome, Milan, Paris, Seoul, Hong Kong and Riyadh) (where he was first an aspiring Professor of Russian History and then eventually a Corporate & Investment banker for Citigroup and wealth management advisor in Saudi Arabia), Tom returned with his wife Evelyne to New York. They bought the boat “As One Does” (a 30-foot C&C Mark I ‘cruiser/racer’) in 2019 and have enjoyed the sailing season out of New Rochelle since then.
Tom commutes to the boat on public transportation from Manhattan. In New Rochelle, he is also a member of the Huguenot Yacht Club, and teaches the ASA 103 (“Coastal Cruising”) course in association with the Port Sailing School of New Rochelle. Tom holds the US Coast Guard “six pack” license as a Merchant Mariner.
